Rocks and caves

There are various rocky habitats along the Green Belt, e.g. chalk cliffs at the Baltic Sea coast, siliceous and calcareous screes in the Small Carpathians and in the Alps or thermophilous screes e.g. at the sunny slopes of Czech-Austrian Thaya valley. In the Alpine border region between Slovenia and Italy there are various caves, partly inhabited by the Cave Salamander.
