Borders separate — Nature unites

Intensive tourism

Especially in coastal and mountainous regions the intensive touristic use often has led to a degradation of nature. One example is the region Bavarian Forest/ Sumava / Mühlviertel. In the border triangle Germany/ Czech Republic/ Austria plans to extend ski mass tourism would deteriorate meadows and disturb wildlife. In 2006 an international work group 'Green Belt of Bavarian Forest/ Sumava / Mühlviertel' released a resolution proposing the establishment of gentle tourism using the natural potential of this extraordinary three-states-region instead of the destroying them.
