Monument "Dorfrepublik Rüterberg"
The East German border village Rüterberg-Broda at the Elbe River was one of the villages, whose inhabitants first suffered severe restrictions and later forced relocation and tear-off of buildings. In 1991 the community Rüterberg was allowed to be named 'Village Republic'.

Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charly, Berlin

The museum was founded on the occasion of the construction of the Wall. It shows the development of the Wall, the common and separated history of East and West Germany from 1945 until today, including the exhibitions 'Painters interpret the Wall', 'From Gandhi to Walesa -non- violent fight for human rights. Parliament of Trees, Schiffbauerdamm, Berlin
Ben Wargin and several other artists composed a memorial for the victims of the Berlin Wall, composed of trees, memorial stones, pictures and texts. The memorial can be visited from Schiffsbauerdammpromenade Fr-Su 13-19oo.

Memorial of the German separation Marienborn
The most important inner German border crossing at the highway Berlin-Hanover with more than 1000 employees has been listed for monument protection since 1990 and contains a documentation of border history with films and exhibitions. Tel: 0049-39406-92090

Wanfried dokumentation centre of German post war history
A terrain model of the village Großburschla (that had been enclosed by the border on three sides) and its border installations, films, guided tours (German, English and French language) and more than 3000 publications show the different political, social and economical situation in both German states.

Memorial and education center "Point Alpha", Geisa/Rasdorf
The US base Point Alpha, the former GDR border installations and the Russian control station form a monument of military history. Today the information centre offers information about the border history and nature of the adjoining biosphere reserve 'Rhön'. Point Alpha was one of the Hot Spots during the Cold War, located in the 'Fulda - Gap' the most likely attack corridor of the Warsaw Pact forces

Natura 2000 – European Green Belt info centre

A photo exhibition informs about the Green Belt and rare animals and plants of the 'Styrian – Slovenian Border Mura'. The Austrian side is Natura 2000 area, but Slovenia plans a series of hydroelectric power plants. Main objective is to intensify border crossing activities and to invite interested visitors.

 

Fertö-Hanság National park information center, Sarród
The extraordinary building at the south-eastern side of Lake Fertö/Neusiedl shows a documentation of the national park, including information about European Green Belt.
