The coordinators of the Green Belt project
In September 2004, during the first meeting of the working group in Sarrod, Hungary, the partners along the European Green Belt determined a structure to coordinate the project activities.
IUCN - the World Conservation Union - coordinates the pan-European Green Belt initiative, linking the stakeholders with each other and with the secretariat, contributing to the development of projects and acting as an information hub. The Green Belt organisation is divided into 3 organisational sections, each of which has a Regional Coordinator:

In the countries national focal points, authorised by there respective state agency for nature protection and landscape management, promote and coordinate activities on the national level.
