Drömling in the Altmark region is the rest of a former expanded wetland area. Both adjoining federal states have been engaged in large scale conservation projects of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation to re-establish wetland habitats. Water balance has to be regenerated and wet meadows are being restored. Common Snipe, Curlew, Crane, White Stork, Barred Warbler, Tree Frog, Green Club-tailed Dragonfly, Bitterling and Wheather Fish will benefit from these measures.
