Near the Czech - Austrian border in Leopoldschlag the Upper Austrian League for Nature Conservation in cooperation with Hnuti Duha, Bund Naturschutz and BUND organises regularly work camps near the river Maltsch/Malse. The river Malse forms a 26 km long natural river section of the former border and is at the same time an important habitat and corridor for Lynx, Otter and Pearl Mussel. Young people aged between 16 and 30 years have spent a week of holidays mowing wet and regularly flooded meadows, removing scrubs and exploring the landscape.
